    1. Wow! everything stuck out, it’s awsome.and you were able to make it understandable in a 15 min. video, that’s awsome too.( P.S. I’m buying the book )

    2. His unending, re occuring mercies. I knew it, but it became so much clearer.

    3. All the qualities that make a good king, are the same attributes that belong to are our good God..

    4. For me it was faithfulness. I had to have faith in the Lord’s faithfulness to us through His word When I lost my boy in January 2019 it was God’s word that brought me through. Depending and relying that what God says to be true. This is still getting me through it today. I also wanted to say (and I may have mentioned it before, can’t remember) that although I love all three of the Discovery Series books and studies, It’s this one that has touched my soul. Things I knew before are so much brighter now. It’s like I’m seeing it through a different light. How merciful the Lord is to us in His love for us. We mess up, He does chastise, but He doesn’t let go. When He says His mercy endures forever, He means it, his word proclaims it again and again. I feel so grateful for His enduring love.

Jean E – I’ve never heard eternal life and death explained better. while your explanations during the entire video were clear, I especially appreciated the myths you mentioned at the very beginning. Who of us hasn’t heard those well-intended, but very wrong, sentiments! You’ve given a very concise, clear, hope-filled, Christ-centered reason to ignore the world’s view(s), and why we do not need to fear death if we are born again. I will dwell on these thoughts and be changed as a result. Thank you to you, your husband and especially to the Lord Himself. 🙂

Hi Jean E….Today we were listening to Day 6 DVD on the stages of eternal life. We have always related “Hades” to be hell but in your teaching, you called the part that Christians go to Hades also. Can you give a little more explanation of why they are called the same name?

Thank you. We are loving this study.

Hi, Char Hauser! That’s such a good question. “Hades” is used in various ways, and that causes a lot of confusion. Sometimes it refers to the intermediate state of unbelievers, and sometimes it’s simply an equivalent for death or the grave for both believers and unbelievers. Here are some examples.

      a) The Septuagint (early Greek translation of the OT) usually translates “Sheol” as Hades, whether it means grave, death, or the temporary abode of souls. The concept of Sheol evolved as God revealed more over OT times. Daniel makes clear the separation of afterlife destinies.

      b) KJV translates “Hades” as hell everywhere except 1Co. 15:55. There it’s quoting Hosea 13:14, which uses “Sheol.” Since this passage is talking about the triumph over death for believers, KJV translates “Hades” as grave. NKJV translates it as Hades. ESV, NIV, and NASB all translate this verse as “death.” The idea is that Hades here does not mean the intermediate state of hell (a place); it means the state of death for both believers and unbelievers.

      c) Rev. 20:13-15 talks about Hades giving up its dead–both unbelievers and believers. Here Hades is a personification for death, not the intermediate state of hell.

      Hope that helps!
