About Jean E. Jones

Jean E. Jones enjoys writing books that help people put God’s words into action. She teamed with her husband Clay for their newest book, How Does God Use Suffering for Our Good?: Living with Hope While Making Sense of Life (2026). Along with best-selling author Pam Farrel and popular artist Karla Dornacher, she also wrote the award-winning Discovering the Bible series of books:

  • 2023: Discovering Wisdom in the Old Testament
  • 2022: Discovering Good News in John
  • 2019: Discovering Jesus in the Old Testament
  • 2019: Discovering Joy in Philippians
  • 2017: Discovering Hope in the Psalms

Jean is a member of Women in Apologetics (WIA) and Advanced Writers and Speakers Association (AWSA). She speaks at conferences and women’s events in both keynote and breakout sessions. Jean was a contributing writer for Crosswalk.com and has written for Today’s Christian Woman and Home Life. She has served on women’s ministry leadership teams for over 30 years.

Previously, Jean worked as a systems analyst in high tech and medical industries. There, she managed projects, wrote training materials, and taught hundreds of classes as a Microsoft Certified Expert, Microsoft Certified Professional, and Adobe Certified Expert.

Jean E. Jones is happily married to her high school sweetheart, Clay, who taught Christian apologetics at Talbot School of Theology for 16 years. He’s the author of Why Does God Allow Evil? and Immortal: How the Fear of Death Drives Us and What to Do About It. Not having kids of their own, they foster parented babies and preteen/teen girls.

She’s lived in Southern California her entire life and currently resides in Laguna Niguel, just a few miles from gorgeous beaches. She loves needlecrafts, dabbles in drawing, and took oil painting lessons from her mother-in-law, a former Disney artist. She often accompanies her husband when he speaks on why God allows evil, resulting in the chance to enjoy exotic foods, such as rooster claws and century eggs in Asia.
